Great title ~ very catchy!

On one hand you say - "This is the road ahead Generation Y and the road you have just traveled Boomers." And, on the other hand you say -

"The paradigm shift isn’t ever going to be to cater to Gen Y until both recruiting and retention of Gen Y becomes a major priority."

All generations bring their own unique skills/talents/experiences to the table - all of them are valuable. Recruiting and retaining across generations should be the focus - not simply generation Y. Why in the world would anyone in the seasoned generations care to share their knowledge, skills, abilites (i.e. help to retain young professionals), if they are not of equal importance.

Focusing on a clear vision/mission and demonstrating how each team member contributes to the team is essential. Putting a focus on one generation over another only creates more of a clash between them.

Rock on!

Warmly,

Misti Burmeister, Best-selling author of "from Boomers to Bloggers: Success Strategies Across Generations"

"Obligations are the great equalizer." You are wise beyond your years. How did you wind-up posting on brazen careerist? Everything you've just said is the antithesis of the whole site.
