Radical Careering reviewed

radical careering coverFirst of all, let me get something off my chest: I like the author of Radical Careering, Ms. Sally Hogshead. She seems to be incredibly bright, funny and intuitive. She is also attractive but I suppose that doesn’t have anything to do with her writing. But I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect a whole lot from this book. I received it for free from inBubbleWrap and while it was light and a ridiculously easy read, it didn’t satisfy as a whole. Maybe that wasn’t the intention (after all, the answers to all of lives great mysteries aren’t external but internal) but I wanted more guidance than that.  It lacked on the practical advice that “careerists” need to take in order to get to that point.

The book was refreshing and entertaining.  I would recommend it as sort of a “read it in the morning with your coffee” sort of book that can get you excited and energized but as far as practical advice, it is just not there.

I thought it might be worth a mention that from the looks of her blog, Ms. Hogshead takes her own advice.
