Number one is why I started blogging under my name though. I feel like you have more of a license to play loose and that people may take you less seriously. That's a generalization though. There are other anonymous bloggers who do just fine for themselves but if someone searches for them online, they aren't going to see the work they've done. There are disadvantages too. If someone doesn't like what you're saying and you are on the job hunt, they may not hire you. Of course, I personally don't see that as a disadvantage because what I say on my blog is what I think and if someone can't get past the disagreement, we probably wouldn't work well together.
