Great post Lance,
Though I myself am not directly tied to HR - your words are inspiring and encouraging. To see change, we must ask, act, and give. If only what you have stated was common thinking in regards to everything in life.

We often forget that it is by deciding to act that we are granted another decision.

"Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all." -- Norman Vincent Peale

I look forward to reading more of your posts, it's nice to read something that is driven by passion and heart.

So, does that make you, Laurie Ruettimann, and Kris Dunn the equivalent of James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay , and the collected writings of Punk Rock HR, Rehaul.com, and HR Capitalist, the HR Federalist Papers of 2009?

Can we work on the HR Articles of Confederation at the next Unconference? Will it be in Philadelphia? Boston?

The topic of the next un-conference . . . "tactical ideas that align with this new paradigm and how we can implement them both within ourselves and our organizations?" I absolutely am energized by the ideas and struggle with the fact that in my organization - many could be years away. Many, but not all. There are things we can do and we are picking them off one at a time. Hearing what others are doing real time, on the ground, today would be a great way to spread the revolution.

When I heard someone say something about "revolution" during one of the sessions, my mind immediately jumped to the photo you used. I'm currently reading "John Adams," and seeing the efforts and determination of those few men to change the world is inspiring.

I felt the same way after the final session. Lots of questions and very few answers, but as you mentioned above, actually asking the hard questions is something that simply must be done. Ignoring them won't make them go away (as much as we'd love for them to!).

And you're not so bad yourself, amigo. :-) It was great to meet you, and I'm thrilled you were able to come.
